The Weather in Greece
Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate. Winters are mild and rainy in coastal regions and cold and snowy in mountain areas. Summers are long and dry, however summer is also the time of the "meltemi" wind (northeastern wind), which can be surprisingly fierce and cool, especially on the north shores of the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands, and in Crete.
